About Me

Howdy!

The artwork above is by my 10 year old self.  I guess I was always in the positive thinking mode!  And I just wanted everyone to be happy.  At one point in my life, I wanted to be a comedian.  Not necessarily because I was funny (I wasn’t that funny…goofy, yes…funny, debatable).  But I remember thinking what an amazing shift would occur if the whole world laughed at the same time.  And I wanted to be instrumental in making that happen.  Can you imagine?

During my early 20s, I remember feeling like I was on a quest for the TRUTH, the ‘Who am I?’ and ‘What am I doing with my life?’ kind of questions one is faced with when hit with the world of realities.  Then in my 30s, that just turned into a quest to be HAPPY.

One thing I’ve discovered in life is that when you put out a request to the Universe, the Universe will give you ample opportunity to achieve.   Well, here you go!  And it’s the immersion effect.  Want muscles?  Go to the gym and lift weights.  Want to learn French?  Go to France and don’t speak a word of English.  Want to be happy?  Here are a cascade of unpleasant events that will prime you for what you are looking for.  I won’t bore you with my battle scars, but suffice it to say that I’ve spent MANY years working through some really, really fun stuff!

I planted a seed to write a book on happiness literally 21 years ago (the book idea came to me on June 18th, 1998).  This was way before the market was saturated with a million books on being happy!  Still, one of my life goals is to finish writing my H.A.P.P.Y book…and I’ve had plenty of research over the last two decades.

Although I can be a little “people pleasing,” I am really happy when I can help others be happy.  Perhaps that’s my way to serve.  And while I will always be on a quest for truth and happiness, I definitely feel a much deeper sense of peace and joy in my life.

Everything I’ve experienced on my journey has directed me to share what I’ve learned with others.  I have been a “self-help junkie” since the ’80s and continue to delve into so many interests and topics in an effort to understand life, understand myself, my relationships, my health…you name it!  It has led me to become a life coach.  You may be thinking, “That’s great, but why do I need a life coach?”

We are social beings!  Having a support system is crucial, even if it’s one person to be your “buddy”.  Someone you can speak with openly, someone to keep you motivated and to keep you accountable.  That’s what I do as a life coach…and more.

I trained with Martha Beck’s Life Coach Training…(now called Wayfinder Life Coach Training as our purpose is to help others find their Way).  Martha is a best selling author of books such as Finding Your Own North Star and Steering by Starlight, and is also known as Oprah’s life coach and a monthly contributor to O, The Oprah Magazine.

As a life coach, my job is not to give advice or tell you what to do.  Our training teaches that everyone has their own North Star, they have their own truth inside of them and their own path.  My job as a life coach is to help you uncover your own truth.  And Martha’s training gave me a treasure trove of valuable tools to navigate finding my own way and to help you find yours.

One way to find our truth is by listening to our hearts.  I’ve been studying a lot about the power of the heart through the HeartMath Institute.  I am an Add Heart Facilitator and practice heart coherence daily.  This is something that I enjoy sharing in my coaching practice (more on this in my blog, Add Heart ).

I’m also certified in Usui/Holy Fire III Reiki, Levels 1 and 2, as I discuss in my blog, Healing Energy.  I am working my way to Reiki Master.  I have been incorporating Reiki into my coaching practice with great success.

Besides being a support system to achieve goals, I help my clients uncover their limiting beliefs.  I believe the only thing really stopping us is our minds…our thoughts and beliefs about a situation.  And it’s hard for us to see the blocks when we’re “too close to the project”…I help you find creative perspectives.

Here are a few comments from clients:

“Lisa uses her eclectic, energetic background to provide me with interesting information which is helping me make changes.  Lisa is able to integrate all these different modalities and apply them to meet my individual needs.  Her compassion and empathy encourage me to speak from and listen to my heart.  For example, Lisa uses her knowledge of HeartMath to help me integrate my heart and brain, to create balance and coherence in my body.  I am learning to become aware of my body’s “felt senses” as to cue me to the changes I need to make.  Since I have been working with Lisa, I feel positive changes in the harmony and organization of my physical and emotional being.”

And this from a Distant Reiki client:

“You said that you’re ‘honing your skills’ and I want to tell you that the day that you messaged me the chakra report, and gave me all of the information, I immediately thought, “Wow. She seriously is gifted at this!”  Everything that you said resonates with me deeply.  You just gave me tears of joy!…Anyway, I am extremely impressed with the chakra reading, and I do feel a shift.  Thank you so much for your pure, beautiful energy, Lisa.”
